I have a XOOM android tablet and a windows 7 portable. When I connect the two devices together using a USB cable, the XOOM shows up in windows explorer as XOOM/internal storage/folders. I cannot assign it a drive letter and ViceVersa does not see it.
Has anyone been able to sync to an Android device using USB? |

I tried the steps shown in the article, but that did not solve the problem. I still have no drive letter. I can see the device, the folders and the files, but there is no drive letter, so I cannot use ViceVersa the sync files. |

i have the same issue with the Android tablet Asus Slider.
Basically, Windows 7 can nicely talk to the tablet and use its files etc, but ViceVersa cannot see it at all.
Because the drivers for the device do not seem to be of USB Mass Storage device type, but of the type Portable Media Player then you cannot Map it as network drive. Note that it is not possible to map any part in the hierarchy - i tried the root "Computer\Slider SL101" and levels to the Pictures folder for instance "Computer\Slider SL101\Internal Storage\Pictures"
The device is not visible in Windows 7 Disk Management as well.
Could you please somehow make ViceVersa be able to talk to devices that boast storage, which is contained within the Portable Media Player device. See screenshot for more details of this specific case.

p.s. Would not want it if you did not have the best sync features in the world! |

Hi Cel123,
we need to look into this... did not know that Android devices are not exposed as USB Mass Storage device type ... is that for every Android device or just specific ones?
thanks _________________ --

Thanks! Some smartphones are exposed as USB Mass Storage device, but most tablets seem to be not. But depends on manufacturer for both. |
