i would like to know if i delete a file from the source and have viceversa set to augment the target will it delete the file from the target on the next run of viceversa? this would save me having to go into both the source and target and delete both copies. second i would like to know if i'm working on a document, save it, run viceversa, later start working on the doc again, save again, run viceversa again will the old copy on the target be replaced with the newly saved copy from the source? thanks |

In ViceVersa PRO, use the backup / mirror method for that, see :

looks like this does answer both questions. thanks a lot. i really appreciate the quick response, and help.
Quote: | Backup (Mirror Source to Target)
This method will backup Source to Target by creating a mirror/replica of the Source to the Target. New and updated files are copied from Source to Target. Renames and deletes from the Source are repeated to the Target. Details:
* All new files/folders added to Source (single files) are copied to Target
* All deleted files/folders in Source are deleted from Target
* All updated files in Source (newer) are copied to Target
NB: If you wish to preserve the old version of files in Target instead of just deleting/overwriting them, enable the archiving feature. |

ok two more questions. i have setup viceversa as suggested in a previous reply in this thread. i tested it and it works as i would like, but i do have two issues. first one is when i finish running viceversa i got the following.

nothing should be newer in target. the second one is that i have various drives for items, and i have a 1tb drive with folders for the contents of each of the other drives. so in viceversa drive i:\backups - utorrent is mirrored to drive d:\universal backups\backups - utorrent, and e:\downloads - music is mirrored to d:\universal backups\downloads - music, etc.... i have found where to exclude files, but not folders. i need to know how to exclude the recycle bin, and system volume information for each drive being mirrored. thanks |
