Greetings,

I am trying to move the data off of a server from one location to the next. I have to move approximately 750GB and I have a very small pipe to do it over so it is taking way too long.

I was wondering if I could send an external drive to the remote location, copy all the files to it, ship it back to HQ and put the files up on a server and then use Vice Versa to synch just the changes.

What I am curious about is whether or not this will work. Will the CRC checks work properly since it used date/time as well as the path?

Do you see any potential issues with doing it this way?

Thanks,

Steve

It will work fine, but make sure the file "modified" timestamp is matching for the files. ViceVersa uses those to decide which file is newer/older. The first time you run VV after the copy via the HD, the files should be all matching. thanks
