I think Bob left message here already, but I am the one in charge of Software Decisions and reviews so I need to make sure I get the answers I have to have.
One thing before I go any further is, can I use a Folder Name with wildcards to find all Folders on the same drive that might have part of that name within the Folder Name. I know Bob might have asked this already, but I need to be sure for myself.
I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,
Heather |

Yes, using subfolder filters. For example:
Include \[abcdef]*
this will include all level-1 subfolders with names starting with a, b, c, d, e or f. The corresponding folder and subfolders in the target are also included.
See ViceVersa PRO help file for more details and examples.

I've given it a good go, but I just cannot get it to do what I need. I could be doing something wrong, but in everything I've read, I just don't see it working for me.
On my T Drive (1.5TB), I have many, many files and folders. I used the drive as a Backup Dumping Ground. I went through many drives and copied or moved the information onto this drive as a general place to save it to, so I could go through it later. Now I need to go through, just the T: to find where I have duplicate folders or several instances of folders that could be within many different structures. For Example, we use the names "File" and "@File" for folders we use to hold "working" files. I want to search, just the T:, to find all occurrences of Folders that contain the name "File", including the folders and files within. I don't know if this is a better explanation or just makes it more confusing...
Thanks for trying to help me. In all fairness to the product, we will not do a review on it. Just because one person can't get it to work for them, doesn't mean the next one can't.
Thanks again,
Heather |

No, I want to find all the folders that contain the name "File" on the T: drive for now. I will want to sync them with another drive but not yet.

Hi,
use source T:\ and add a file filter Include "*file*" that will select all files containing the text file

How would I do it to find all the Folders on the T:\ that contain the name "File"?
What you gave me will help me find any Files that contain the name "File" within the name, right? Not files that contain the text "File" somewhere within the actual file correct?
Thanks! |
