I have two shares on two nas that need to be synchronized, one here in the US and other in Singapore.
Is there a way of compressing the data between the two shares so compressed data is goes over the wire instead of uncompressed to speed up transfer and reduce the data amount transfered?
Here's what I was thinking of:
Having two apps one on US site and one on Singapore site
US site has a new/updated file
US compress file, compressed file then transfered to SG, SG then decompress and overwrites the file |

If US has always the updated files (one-way replication from US to SIN), you could setup
US -> SIN (compressed) [this one runs in the US]
SIN (compressed) -> SIN (Uncompressed) [runs in SIN]
