I am evaluating VV so if I ask stupid questions please excuse me. I mirror copied a 550 GB HD to the target HD. Then I went through the target HD to sample photo files and be sure that it was useable with Adobe Lightroom. I opened and closed the files but did not change anything. Today when I did a mirror backup of source to target many files in the target were newer than the source. I got warnings and had to go to Advanced settings and check to overwrite the target with the source settings even if they were older.
I am assuming that even opening a file in the target will change the date stamp and so it will appear as a newer file. Is this correct?
After the initial mirror backup, would it be better to used the replication update method to keep a large photo library backup file current? |

Hi, thank you for evaluating ViceVersa.

Usually that should not happen. Only changing/saving files should change the modified timestamp (which ViceVersa uses). However, it could be that Adobe Lightroom changes the timestamps when opening the files? check with Windows Explorer if after opening the files, the modified timestamp has changed.

Yes, if you do not want to delete anything from target. See:
