Didn't worked for me:
I put:
\\?\C:\Users\User\Documents\ as source and
\\?\G:\Backup\Documenti\ as target
It gives me the error "too long path...refer to the guide".
The backup is to a USB external HD.

Hi, do you have archive folders too where the prefix needs to be added? Otherwise please send the profile log to support via e-mail. Profile log is in ViceVersa -> profile settings -> execution. thanks

So glad I read this. I was thinking I was missing something. Didn't think it would be as simple as putting "\\?\UNC\" instead of just "\\" for the actual UNC path. So glad I was able to use this. I had about 6 GB of files that were being skipped because of this. |

I am trialing ViceVersa Pro3 and trying to get \\?\ working. As per to instructions from I updated the source and target but doesn't seem to work. The target with UNC path doesn't seem to like the additional syntax as it's not recognizing the target path.
Appreciate your help.

I think you have to use back slahes instead , ie, \\ instead. |

Hi, I just looked and I have version 2015 and when I checked for newer versions, it told me there was 2.50 or something.
Bottom line is I want to be able to do long filenames too so, what version do I need and will it cost me anything to upgrade?
Thanks and LOVE my vice versa. I used to have laplink but had nothing but problems with it.
