I am new to ViceVersa and my first use was to consolidate folders and files on my laptop to a copy I have on a network drive. I received numerous errors on open files all of them like: "the size attributes or timestamp of \\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1\My Documents\DEFAULT.alarm have changed after comparison. For data security reasons this file will be skipped." with just the filename being different. I thought the purpose of VSS was to allow copying open files. Why did the copy of these files fail? Thanks for any help. (Windows XP SP3).

Hi,

can you check if these files are still existing in the My Documents folder. It may be that they were deleted after ViceVersa created the shadow copy.

thanks

Hello,

try enabling the option "Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison" in profile settings -> advanced settings if not activated already.

thanks
