Whenever I change a ViceVersa profile the matching schedule task in VVengine gets disabled and if I don't remember that the backup doesn't run or gets stuck at the disabled task.
Why is that and how can I ensure all scheduled tasks in VVEngine are always enabled? |

Hi,
that's a safety feature, it's to prevent that the profile gets changed inadvertently ... if a profile gets changed, it needs to be re-enabled manually in VVEngine.

I don't like this behavior. The reason is that the profile gets disabled sometimes even if it hasn't been changed. In my example I store the profile file on one computer, then use it on another in the network (via network share). Works great except that VVEngine from time to time gets the idea that the profile has changed. But it hasn't. (I also believe the profile gets disabled if I restart the computer with the profile file.)
I tried a (stupid) workaround, enabling all profiles via VVConsole every hour via scheduled task. It didn't work very well. If any profile was running at the time it got "cancelled by user". The opposite of what I wanted.
I need a more solid solution for running the VVEngine profiles. Suggestions:
1. Maybe you can disable the profile only if it has changed in some way (the actual settings in the profile).
2. I would appreciate a new configuration in VVEngine (each scheduled profile) with the effect "Auto-enable (restart) profile after changes"/"Keep profile enabled". If the profile gets disabled due to changes, then it automatically enables itself.
3. Maybe this could be refined so that a current running profile doesn't get cancelled when the profile changes. It runs to the end with the old settings, then, at the next start, it runs with the new settings.
So, when can I have an updated VVEngine with these enhancements?
Thanks! |

Hi, I think this issue could be due to having the profile on a network folder and the network becoming not accessible for a small period of time. _________________ --

Yes, that's the reason. And it is exactly that I want VVEngine to be less sensitive for.
It would probably be quite easy for you to check if the profile actually has changed or not. And in addition to that introduce a new "temporarily disabled while waiting for profile file to be available" status.
