|
|
I finally got the path (from my laptop to desktop) right but when I use compare, I get these results:
Status Summary -
- Total Files - Source: 4,024 (37.06GB) - Target: 0 (0)
- Excluded Files - Source: 4,024 (37.06GB) - Target: 0 (0)
- Matched Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
- Single Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
- Newer Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
- Older Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
- Total Subfolders - Source: 338 - Target: 0
- Excluded Subfolders - Source: 338 - Target: 0
- Matched Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 0
- Single Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 0
1 folder could not be accessed.
It was excluded from comparison.
I have my profile set up exactly the same for my backup to an external drive which works fine. The target is a new folder with nothing in it so it's obvious that there won't be any folders in the target list. Can someone tell me why I'm not getting any files showing in the source?
I'm sure you probably need more info, but not sure exactly what.

I can't for the life of me find the "show all" in the menus of the comparison window. I'm using version 2. Could it be that option is only available in version 2.5?
At any rate, I solved my problem. I started with a new profile with very simple settings. This time I got the message "Cannot access folder
\\Titan Q6600\Z-Bkup Photos\LaptopD
Folder is excluded.
I knew I hadn't excluded anything, which made me think about sharing. I had created new folders on the desktop for this backup, but I hadn't set the sharing permissions. Once I allowed sharing, everything worked fine.
Thanks for your reply and suggestion. |

That is, everything wroked fine for "D" drive. However I want to copy files with more than 256 characters for "C" drive.
Can you please tell me how or where to insert the \\?\ in the path
"\\Titan Q6600\Z-Bkup Photos\LaptopD" so that it will copy those files? I've tried every combination possible (I think) and I cannot get the program to recognize the path/folder.
Thanks in advance, |
