|
|
I get an error when i try to load a Snapshot (.vsn) from a 64bit Version into a 32bit Version of VV and viceversa. Is this correct/intended?
Error says: "Error reading from VSN file: C:\xxxxx.vsn"
VV Version 2.5
Thanks! |

Hi,
I noticed that issue too recently but it should not be the case. I have added this to be fixed in next build,
thank for reporting this issue

|
|
I realized that both VVPro x32 and x64 are not able to read snapshots created with VVPlus (applies to .vsn and .sfv) or SFV Manager (.sfv only).
And viceversa, snapshots created with VVPro cannot be read by VVPlus (.vsn result in error, .sfv is displayed as empty) or SFV Manager (.sfv is displayed as empty).
Maybe this is related to the same problem. Any idea when the next build will be available? |

This will be fixed in build 2503.

PLUS and PRO snapshots are incompatible, that can't be changed.

Thanks for your reply, but now you leave me rather confused!
I thought a .sfv-file is standardized (see Wikipedia), so every application which supports them should use the same format!? Imagine you could not open a .txt-file created by notepad with any other editor. Or you were not able to play your MP3s with WinAmp because they have been created with iTunes (I'd never produce MP3s with iTunes, it's just to name some popular programs). Strange...
With .vsn-files it's another story, since this is no standard format. But if PLUS and PRO snapshots are not compatible I'd suggest to use different file extensions here to avoid confusion.
Don't wanna bother you, just an idea...
In order to guard against misunderstandings: I have been using VVPlus for years now and wouldn't miss it. But nothing is so good that it can't be improved... |

Yes, however the sfv format was not standardized enough and not all applications are able to open all of them ...

You are correct, this is an historical issue, the format was slightly modified in PRO, but the extension was not changed! It should have been changed then. _________________ --
