Hi,

I have a problem where I'm getting the out of memory error while trying to compare. I did see a discussion about the 1 million file limit but I don't understand why it was working before. Below is a recent status email message. I'm confused.

Code:
Backup (Mirror Source to Target)

- Final Status -
- Total Files - Source: 1,627,929 (455.63GB) - Target: 1,627,929 (459.63GB)
- Excluded Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
- Matched Files - Source: 1,627,928 (453.35GB) - Target: 1,627,928 (453.35GB)
- Single Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
- Newer Files - Source: 1 (2.28GB) - Target: 0 (0)
- Older Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 1 (6.28GB)
- Total Subfolders - Source: 225,559 - Target: 225,559
- Excluded Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 0
- Matched Subfolders - Source: 225,559 - Target: 225,559
- Single Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 0

Any ideas as to why I'm getting the error now when I didn't get it before?

I just installed a new 3 tb USB 3.0 drive to make my backups on but I can't get past the error.

Hello

it depends on what other applications are running at the same time.
See: http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item104.htm

thanks

I didn't have any other applications running.

The problem happened when I was comparing my data (with over 1 million files) against a blank disk.

So I copied my old backup onto the disk with xcopy and I was able to do the backup last night with over 1 million files in the comparison but the actual amount of files that had to be copied over was just over 700,000. Is it possible that the 1 million file limit is referring to the amount of files that need to be backed up?

Code:
- Final Status -
- Total Files - Source: 2,311,387 (652.43GB) - Target: 2,311,387 (676.43GB)
- Excluded Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
- Matched Files - Source: 2,311,386 (652.03GB) - Target: 2,311,386 (652.03GB)
- Single Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
- Newer Files - Source: 1 (411.45MB) - Target: 0 (0)
- Older Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 1 (24.40GB)
- Total Subfolders - Source: 305,033 - Target: 305,033
- Excluded Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 0
- Matched Subfolders - Source: 305,033 - Target: 305,033
- Single Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 0

- Run Summary -
- Added Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 711,109 (153.39GB)
- Updated Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 1 (24.40GB)
- Deleted Files - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 7 (10.92MB)
- Added Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 77,783
- Deleted Subfolders - Source: 0 - Target: 4
- Archive Information -
- Files Added to Archive - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 8 (24.41GB)
- Files Deleted from Archive - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)

Hello,

1 million files is a guide line, but it depends on other factors, like amount of files to copy / delete , copy method, etc.

thanks
