I have been a Pro user for some time now, and absolutely love the rich feature set this software has to offer. Lately though, when I installed VV Pro on my virtual machine (Win7 64 bit, 6GB RAM, dedicated quad core), the performance is very very slow. The longer the program runs, the slower it gets.
I am trying to mirror one eSATA connected drive to a USB connected drive. Lets say that an average 5KB html file is taking over 5 seconds to copy over from one drive to another. I am trying to mirror close to 700GB of data.
Also, when VVPro starts, it immediately makes the CPU peak at 100% utilization. I have turned down the sync speed, but it has no effect.
Not sure if this applies, but I came across a thread on VMWare forums, that talked about an application's need to have a high speed timer. I wouldn't think that VVPro would need such a timer, but then, I don't know.
Can anyone tell me what's going on here? Thanks

Could performance be impacted by one of the drives you are copying from / to ? It would be interesting to try a copy between different drives on the same virtual machine, maybe internal drives. I wonder if one of the two drives is the issue. thanks _________________ --

I have not tried it since, and have switched over to running cron jobs instead. I will get back to you when I do and you know. |
