|
|
Hi all, first post here, hopefully someone can help me out with this...
We recently installed a new file server (Server_1) on Saturday and had to copy over the data files for various users [I think it was around 10GB of data] from the old server (Server_2). Well, the transfer went flawless, no errors or complaints that I saw. Everything was there, but we had to tweak a few permissions so that some DATA folders would show up for their corresponding users. Once that was taken care of, it appeared to be working.
However, we discovered this morning that the folders/files not only on Server_1, but also on Server_2, are now Read-Only. We have tried setting them back to Read/Write, and it seems to take, but then after we close the window and try it out they go back to being Read-Only (or never change in the first place).
Any ideas/solutions/feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

It's not an issue only with directories, it's an issue with every single file that was copied. They were NOT read-only before we used Vice Versa, and now the original files/directories and the newly copied ones (copied using Vice Versa) are all Read-Only. I am almost positive that this is not an administration issue, it happened immediately after using Vice Versa. |

The weirdest thing is we can't set them back to their normal permissions. It acts like it is taking them, but then when we close the window and check they are back to Read-Only again. |
