I am transferring about 500,000 files totaling approx 205GB between servers on a 1GB LAN using the latest eval version of PRO. The transfer is taking longer than a basic Explorer copy. The network utilization both servers is around 10% or less. CPU and Memory utilization are light as well. I am NOT doing CRC checking (that was too slow). I am only displaying errors.

The "average" transfer rate looks to be around 4-5MB.

Is this "normal" for transfer speeds? I was hoping for something quite a bit faster.

Hi, check profile settings -> performance : make sure the process priority is "normal" and speed is at 100.
thanks

Priority was set to Default. Speed was set to Max.

The process crashed with the following in the event viewer about 10% of the way in:

Can you please send the files ViceVersa.dmp and ViceVersa.rpt to support@tgrmn.com , the files will contain info on the crash. They are in the installation folder or in the application data folder,
thanks

I looked in "C:\Program Files\ViceVersa Pro 2" and in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ViceVersa PRO 2" which is where the log files were created. Those files dont exist.

Where else coudl they be?

Please search hard-disk for these files, ViceVersa PRO tries to store them in several places depending on which account is running. Also please set the process priority to "normal" and re-try the copy, thanks

They are not on the computer anywhere. I will try "normal" and rerun.

Have you received an update on this issue from ViceVersa support? I'm in a similar situation except that I plan to use ViceVersa to migrate several large environments from one data center to another, over an extremely high speed point to point connection, (need to limit downtime).

So far my testing has produced truly pathetic speeds, (compared to what I'm looking for). I've tried tweaking several options, but transfer performance hasn't improved.

Hi, have you noticed slow transfers for large file or small files? How does it compare with a Windows Explorer copy?

thanks
