hi TGRMN,
I am currently using Viceversa to replicate files between 2 Windows 2003 (R2) servers. I use the Viceversa VSS functionality to replicate files as soon as they are modified. The server is also hosting SQL Server 2005 databases, but they are *not* replicated by ViceVersa, they do, however, reside in the same partitions, but in different directories.
Now I plan to use a Backup tool to back up the whole server, and the tool (ntbackup) does make use of the VSS service as well. It creates a volume snapshot to get a consistend backup.
I am not sure wether this does somehow influence Viceversa. Assuming a Volume shadow copy was created and the backup is still in progress, and one of the monitored files changes - will the file be replicated as usual, or does Viceversa wait until the backup is complete, or even worse, may it miss the file change?
Thx,
Armin. |
