I've taken over management of a couple of servers from somebody else. They had installed and licensed Vice Versa. I'm trying to figure it out and get it to work.
I can manually load a profile and execute it. It appears to do what it should. My next step is to get the VVEngine to run the profile for me each day. I can bring up the web configuration page in the broswer and try to setup a profile to run each day.
The creation of the entry seems straighforward enough, but when I try to enable the entry, I get back a message that says "File not found": gatespc-bcj01.fsf".
I can't imagine why that would happen. I browsed to the file to select it in the first place when setting up this entry, and it's certainly still there. Where is it looking for the fsf file? |

>Hi, which version of VVEngine are you using?
It appears to be: VVEngine 1.1 (SN5)

Thanks, what browser are you using, in the older versions of VVEngine there was an incompatibility with certain browsers, now fixed in version 2. thanks _________________ --

When I activate the icon on the desktop (or from the tray), the Engine page loads in Firefox. I don't know how that's configured. However, I can run Internet Explorer (version 8.0.6001.18702), and point it to "127.0.0.1:8001". What appears is basically the very same thing, and when I try to enable the profile entry, I get the same error.
This is most puzzling, since I have to assume that the fellow that set this up and administered this server before me had this working. If I execute the link titled "Open in VV", a dialog box appears on the desktop that says: "Profile file not found: gatespc-bcj01.fsf". However, I can load that profile just fine when running ViceVersa Pro.

Another thing I noticed which I'm sure has plenty to do with this "file not found" problem:
When I go into the web interface and create a new profile, I browse to the location of the fsf file. However, when I'm finished setting up the profile, the full path is not saved. Under the column of "Profile Name", I just see the fsf file name, not the full path that includes it.
On another machine at the same facility that also had the VVEngine installed, you would see the full path shown. What's keeping me from saving it like that?

Hello,
are you using the same web browser on both machines?
I think this issue has been fixed in the latest version 2.0

No, that was not the case, but it is now. Somebody had configured things so Firefox was the default browser on one of the machines, so the VV configuration was coming up in that browser. I opened things up in Internet Explorer on that same server, and things worked right. I have since made IE the default browser, and the task is enabled properly.
You had asked earlier about the version installed here [1.1 (SN5)] and you've also mentioned a version 2. Should we be considering an upgrade? If so, what would be the cost, and would it be a simple inplace upgrade, or is upgrading more complex than that?
Thanks for the assistance.
