Hi Guys
I wonder if you could help me with a problem with Compressed/Encrypted files.
I’m using the latest ViceVersa Pro v2501 to synchronise folders on two machines securely using Compression and Encryption, via Dropbox, across the internet.
On each machine I synchronise the source folder (clear/uncompressed) with a Dropbox folder (Encrypted/Compressed). The dropbox folders are shared between the two machines so any changes in one folder is sync’d to dropbox, copied across the internet to the other machine’s dropbox, and then sync’d to the destination folder.
The problem is that, at random, hidden / system files (desktop.ini and .dropbox) appear in the encrypted/compressed folder. And the sync comparison fails with the message “ <filename> in Target (Compressed)(Encrypted) does not have the required extension “.gz.enc”. Please delete or move this file using Windows Explorer. Aborting Comparison.”
I have “Exclude hidden files “ and “Exclude System files” both ticked in file filters and Hidden and System exclusion in subfolder filters both ticked, but VVPro seems to check the file suffix before it checks for system/hidden properties, and then fails the comparison.
Is there any way round this?
Thanks, Mike |
