We have an IT policy that requires changes to system passwords fairly often. Whenever I do this it usually takes me a week or more to realize that all my scheduled backups are not running in VVScheduler because they are set up with the old password.

Is there someway to configure Scheduler to send an email notification when this occurs (just as it does, when the tasks do run successfully?)

Thanks,

By default, Windows XP requires a password for a scheduled task and it needs to match the main password.

However, you may disable this restrictions with the following registry change:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > Lsa

limitblankpassworduse

Change the value in the Value Data box from 1 to 0

Then, check the "Run only if logged on" box in the scheduled task.

The task will now continue to run when the user periodically changes their
domain password without the need to change the scheduled task password.

This seems kind of dangerous in that it seems like it would allow ANYTHING to run without having login credentials.

Is it possible to simply configure VV Scheduler to generate some type of a notification when scheduled tasks fail due to login credential failure?
