Hi there,

I am trying to set up a nightly backup schedule using vvscheduler. However, upon completing the set up, it prompts me for the password of my windows account. I entered it and it keeps telling me that that password is incorrect and thus the scheduled task cannot be created. Any idea what's going on? I am certain of my log in password so not sure what gives? I am running VV Pro 2.5 under Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise Edition.

Thanks.

Kenny

I created a Windows Task Schedule directly and it works correctly (and it did not ask me for password for the setup btw - perhaps because I am already logged in?).

Any idea?

Thanks.

We do not have a domain account and only just a Workgroup. I logged in as myself (kcheung) who has admin privilege.

Same problem for me. Admin password doesn't work. Stuck trying to demo product's ability to run unattended.

PostPosted: Sat Nov 20, 2010 3:05 pm    Post subject: sync to NAS: Login Failure Reply with quote

I want to sync the data on several pc's and maybe a mac against one master network folder in a NAS (an apple time capsule)
This gives access to all the data from each machine, and only 1 set of data to back up.
This is a home network, and the same files are unlikely to be used on 2 computers at the same time.
I want to set this up with VV Engine, so that each computer syncs automatically in real time (or on start up and every 15 minutes?) so that data is always up to date at any location.
I'm hoping for a set it and forget it scenario here.

I am starting on 1 pc and the NAS first, and have set up a profile in VV which works so far, but only if I have previously manually logged into the NAS (time capsule).
The automated sync run by vvEngine does not work at all due to a log in failure to the NAS.

My questions are:
how can I set vvEngine to log in to the NAS?
Is this the best solution short of running a proper server?
Any one know anything about setting this up on the Mac? Smile
