Hi everyone,

We want to know whether ViceVersa can be used to keep two Hyper-V servers, running on different physical servers on the same LAN, in sync. We do not have a SAN so we cannot use failover clustering.

We would like to have one of the Hyper-V servers running as an active server and the second as a passive server, i.e. not doing any work, but ready to take over if required. Should the active Hyper-V server stop working for any reason the passive Hyper-V server must take over at the point where the other one stopped. For this to happen there are a few folders containing a few small files (less than 10) on the active server that must be replicated in real-time to the passive server.

Could you please comment on the viability of this.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
André

Hello

you can replicate live hyper-v machines with ViceVersa, but I am not sure about the feasibility of having these machines running in the other server....

thanks

Hi,

Can you please elaborate on why you are "not sure about the feasibility of having these machines running in the other server...."

We will have two physical servers and each one will be running only one Hyper-V server. The two physical servers are on the same LAN so connection is fast. The two Hyper-V servers must be replicated in real-time.

Is this possible?

Regards
