I have been running 32-bit VVPro v2.5 for some time on a notebook with 64-bit Win 7, synchronizing with my desktop computer using the synchronization method. Several days ago I received an email from you inviting me to upgrade to build 2501. I downloaded 64-bit build 2501 and installed it. Since then the program finds no files to synchronize with my desktop, although I know there are many file updates and new files to be synchronized. I have reset the tracking database, uninstalled and reinstalled the 64-bit version, uninstalled and reinstalled the 32-bit version, and rebooted both computers. Nothing helps. ViceVersa Pro doesn't work any more. What do I do now? |

I get no error message. The result of a "compare" is a normal-looking "source and target are identical" message. All looks normal, but the source and target are really not identical. About 20 files should be listed to sync, but none are. |

The problem seems to be with the Profile's "Include files" clause [see below]. I've been using this for several years to synchronize only the MSO1033.acl file from a folder, or at least that was my intent. At any rate, it didn't seem to have caused problems in the build I was using prior to installing build 2501. Now with this clause in the Profile no files are found to synchronize; when I remove the clause from the Profile lots of files are found to synchronize; when I put the clause back in the Profile again no files are found to synchronize once more.
Here's the Profile:
Profile File: c:\1data\tools\utilities\viceversa\vv swt500 to swp670 with acl.fsf
Folders
- "C:\1data\" <to> "Z:\1data\" (Include Subfolders)
- "C:\z-sw archives\" <to> "Z:\z-sw archives\" (Include Subfolders)
- "C:\Users\swilson\Favorites\" <to> "Z:\Users\swilson.KCX\Favorites\" (Include Subfolders)
- "C:\Users\swilson\Music\iTunes\" <to> "Z:\Users\swilson.KCX\Music\iTunes\" (Include Subfolders)
- "C:\Users\swilson\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\" <to> "Z:\Users\swilson.kcx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\"
- Create sources/targets that do not exist
- Include files: "C:\Users\swilson\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\MSO1033.acl"
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
Execution
- Method: Synchronization
- Tracking Database: "C:\ProgramData\ViceVersa PRO 2\vvdb1.tdb"
- Log File: "C:\ProgramData\ViceVersa PRO 2\log1.log" (max 10000 KB)
- No archive for deleted/replaced source files
- No archive for deleted/replaced target files
- Verify successful file copy by checking file CRC |

Hello
this file filter:
C:\Users\swilson\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\MSO1033.acl
would include only this file. _________________ --

I have 5 clauses in this Profile.
I want the file filter -
C:\Users\swilson\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\MSO1033.acl
to apply to the last clause only. How would I do that?
Or more generally, how would I synchronize only files with extensions of .acl or .dox within only one clause? |

Try
Exclude files: "C:\Users\swilson\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\*.*
Include files: "C:\Users\swilson\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\*.acl
Include files: "C:\Users\swilson\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\*.dox
thanks _________________ --
