|
|
Just installed VV on 64-bit Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V. When trying to choose a source and browsing the Volume Shadow Service Writers/Components, I get the following error:
VSS Writers listing failed. E_UNEXPECTED
Already rebooted/uninstalled/reinstalled. Note that doing "vssadmin list writers" from command prompt shows all the writers as stable with no errors. Any ideas? |

Try setting "Volume Shadow Copy" log level to "detailed": the option is in profile settings -> advanced settings -> details.
Then, when selecting the VSS components, check the output produced in the ViceVersa output window ( main menu -> view -> output window) and please copy and paste the output here for further checking.
thank you
PS make sure you are running ViceVersa with elevated admin rights (run as administrator) if you have User Account Control enabled on your server.

Thanks for the response. Here's the output:

One other thing: do you have any drives, volumes or mounted volumes (E:\, D:\, etc) that are virtual or otherwise "unusual"? thanks _________________ --
