Confused Last night (This Morning before going to bed is more accurate) while burning the midnight oil I decided to install the trial version of ViceVersa dispite some of the bad press that I was reading. This application apear to have all of the features that I need to schedule nightly backups from network drives to the Windows 7 Pro 64Bit system that use as a backup server. I was able to stumble thru manually backing up one source but was unsuccessfull trying to manualy backup 2 or more sources to a single drive. I abandoned that attempt and moved on to trying to schedule an automated backup of the single successful manual backup in which I saved the profile name. I am receiving a "Source Folder Not Found" error even though I can click on the hyperlink in the error message and navigate to the source. I have changed the password from the the local userID/password to the remote system userID/password. Nothing works. Any advice? Thanks.

I just added a WD MyCloud (X:)NAS to my system that also includes a DLink 2-bay (Z: and YSmile NAS. Currently I have VV Scheduler backing up Z: -> Y: and Z: -> C:. No problems. Now I want X: to be my primary network drive and I want to back it up to Z:. So X: -> Z:. This works find if I run VV manually. But VV Scheduler always fails with exit code 13, "Source folder not found". I'm using the UNC (as far as I know), just like with the DLink drive. Is there any other logging I can turn on to see what is going on?

Thanks

Hi, what is the UNC path of the new X drive? Do you need to log-in ? If positive enter that info in ViceVersa profile settings -> folders -> network. thanks

The UNC is \\WDMYCLOUD\Data. I do not have to log in to access it but I did set the user/password in VVScheduler under task -> run as. I don't seem to have a setting -> folders -> network option in my version (VV Pro 2.5).

Thanks

Ok, I went to ViceVersa PRO -> profile settings -> folders -> network settings and check "Connect using the following credentials". When I use the Test Connection button sometimes it says "connected" and sometimes it says

"\\WDMYCLOUD" is not accessible using the crediential entered. Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again.

When I run it through the VVScheduler, it returns with error code 2.

Hello, after a bit of experimentation it appears that if a network connected PC is not switched-on that the source is not available (obviously!) and that particular comparison /backup pair is ignored. Is this guaranteed response?

I have 4 networked PCs , each with 2 or more comparison sets and I want to be sure that the backups are not deleted from the target (removable stick) if the source PC is not switched on. This is crucial to the backup as our insurance company have made a daily backup a condition of our insurance, so if the backup is incomplete they won't cough up.

Anyone sure of what happens?

TIA
David

Hi , if a target in a multiple source-target pairs profiles is not available, then that pair is completely skipped (if the option "Continue even if sources/targets are inaccessible" is enabled in profile settings -> execution). thanks
