Hi all
We are using engine as a service. (version 1.1 build7) on server 2003. We are having probs with 32bit and 64bit (we tried both). When we install the engine half the time it does not work. It cannot see the paths even though it is accessible through windows. I tried different logon methods in the vv engine service under windows services. The only option is to keep reinstalling it until it works. Once it works it's fine for about a month, then we get all sorts of run time errors, c++ errors, "VV Engine needs to close" messages ........ and so on. This is very frustrating because we use VV pro for 7 of our radio stations for the past 3 years and it is taking up lots of my time. I contacted support but they are not getting back to me. Is there any better version of the engine as a service that actually works? Can anyone help?
The VV Pro 2 works very well and it is reliable (except the engine)
Thanks |

Can you please send the files VVEngine.dmp and VVEngine.rpt to support@tgrmn.com ? They are in the VVEngine installation folder and contain additional info on the crash.

Hi thanks for the prompt reply
I cannot find the vvengine.rpt and vvengine.dmp however I found vvengineservise.log in the vvengine folder. I also found viceversa.rpt and viceversa.dmp in the viceversa pro2 folder. Is there any other location I can look for the vvengine.rpt and .dmp files?
The only other info I can give is that under windows event viewer there was a bunch of cannot access tracking database errors for the vvengine. But when I restarted the vvengine service it started working again without resseting the tracking database. The last big crashes ocured 26 and 27 July 2010.
In the past I emailed support@tgrmn.com.
I sent the file to you that I found.
Thanks much |
