I want to transfer my 60GB of files from my external to a NAS. I would then like to have the NAS as my primary source and a new different external be a 1:1 target. What is the best way to do the 1st initial transfer with verification of successful full transfer? Then what would be the recommended process (backup, mirror, 1-way sync, etc) for keeping the new external up-to-date? The NAS will always be the Source, the new external will always be a backup drive in case the NAS goes down. Once a day updating is adequate.

Use VV to backup (mirror) the external to the NAS. Enable CRC comparison to make sure the data is properly transferred.

Then setup a profile that back-ups (mirrors) the NAS to the external daily.

thanks
