|
|
I am using VVPro to backup files between two folders.
Below are my profile settings
**** Source: "R:\Projects\"
**** Target: "I:\Projects\"
**** Include Subfolders: Yes
**** Include files: "9????\Building Permit\Decision_Notice_9????.pdf"
**** Include files: "9????\Building Permit\Stamped_Plans_9????.pdf"
**** Include files: "9????\Final Lodgement Info\*.pdf"
**** Include files: "9????\Building Permit\Map_9????.pdf"
**** Exclude hidden files
**** Exclude system files
**** Include subfolders: "9????\Building Permit\"
**** Include subfolders: "9????\Final Lodgement Info\"
**** Exclude empty subfolders
**** - Comparison Settings -
**** Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
**** Ignore 2 seconds difference
**** Ignore 1 hour difference
**** - Execution Settings -
**** Method: Backup (Mirror Source to Target)
**** No archive for deleted/replaced source files
**** No archive for deleted/replaced target files
**** Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison
The problem is that once files/folders that match the inclusion criteria have been deleted from the source, they are not being deleted from the target.
Would you know why this is happening? |

Hello
try the option "Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison", it's in profile settings -> advanced settings

Hello,
I've already selected that "Copy files..." option, its there in the profile settings I uploaded in the first post.
Initially I was having trouble 'overwriting' existing files, selecting this option now overwrites files, but the delete does not work.
Any other ideas?
Thanks, |

Hello
are the file timestamps actually changing for these files that can't be deleted? What happens if you run ViceVersa again, does it report the same error for the same files?

I am having the same problem.
The problem occurs when a file has been deleted from the source server and ViceVersa tries to delete it from the remote server. It complains that the “[The size, attributes or timestamp of “the remote file” have changed after comparison. For data security reasons this file will be skipped.]”
Is there a solution for this problem?
Thanks,
Randy |

Yes it always happens. I have it set up as scheduled task that runs every 24 hours. This problem only occurs withone site. I do not see this issue on the servers at other 5 global locations. I did some network latency analysis and found that the network connectivtity to this site is 25-30% slower than to the otherlobal sites.
Thanks! |

Thanks, can you confirm that you are using the option:
Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison
in profile settings -> advanced settings

Hello
A similar problem occurs to me.
It happens with Backup (mirror source to target) execution method AND the new "no rescan" option active.
What happens is that if some files are deleted from source and the same files are for some reasons manually deleted also from target (it can happen with portable storage) Viceversa keep thinking that those files are in the target and raises an error when it tries to delete files that actually do not exist.
It is sufficient to do a "Run with rescan" to fix the errors.
It is likely, but I didn't try that similar errors occur with other execution profiles.
It'd be nice tough to have a "rescan on error" option that should try a rescan before an error email is sent. I'll put this in the wish list. |
