question previously asked about mirroring a slave drive. My question is similar, but my tablet pc has only one drive and no way to make it slave. But its beginning to act erratically (mechanically, not s/w) so I'd like to make a mirror image (on network target), then load it all onto new disk.
Running into problems where some files are not copied (like boot.ini, and 4 others), but also \Program Files\ and \Windows (and some windows update folders) are not accessible (also such folders as \Docs andSettings\Admin).
On source, I see Volume Shadow Copy servive stopped -- so I'll need to make sure its running.... but:
Is it possible to make a perfect mirror image including the OS, Programs, registry, etc.?
Thanks so much!!

Hello

using the Volume Shadow Copy Service , ViceVersa will copy and mirror all the files from the old disk to a new disk, but the new disk will not be bootable. You will however have an exact mirror image with all your files on it.

thanks

Thanks so much for your reply.
Any suggestions on making my 2nd disk bootable? I'm guessing I need to load same versionof OS on before using VV to mirror it?
Also when I do windows updates, VV will mirror those onto 2nd disk right?
This way I should have swappable disk in the event of a crash, correct?
Thanks so much. I'm a new user to VVPro and Engine and want to make the most of it.
