Hello,

We are using VV pro 2.5 (build 2501) and VV engine 1.1 build 7, to create a real time back up of a production server.

We have two profiles running in vvengine. The main profile is monitoring a set of directories and backing them up to the second server upon file changes. We have VSC enabled and it is successfully copying open files.

The second profile we have is monitoring a specific directory which contains an MS access .mdb file. Due to the nature of teh in house application, which uses this .mdb file, the file is constantly open. Data is written to this file, but the date modified tag doesn't change. Therefore this profile is set up to monitor on CRC changes. If we run teh profile manually it successfully detects the change and copies the file, however if left to monitor the directory , vvengine doesn't detect the file has changed. Any ideas why it shouldn't? The CRC values are different.

The only workaround we have at the moment is to set the profile to run every minute. This is far from ideal as we need the mirroring to be as close to real time as possible as the back up server is being used as a hot swap for the source server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Rob

Hello

looks like MS access does not notify Windows of the file change, hence no notification reaches VVEngine. If you test a change of another file in the same directory, does VVEngine detect it?

thanks

Hello,

I have tried updating a text document in this folder and vvengine does detect the change. It must be the way our application is updating the mdb file which is causing the problem.

Thanks for your help
