|
|
Hello!
I've previously used backup software that where able to create a new target folder for each day like this:
"2010-06-05 My Documents"
"2010-06-06 My Documents"
"2010-06-07 My Documents"
The backup software will always keep X copies and delete and create target folders automatically.
Can ViceVersa do this? Or how can I keep X copies of the source folder?
Kind regards

Hello,
yes, that can be done using folder variables, for instance, x:\target<date>\
See help file -> folder variables for more info,

Thanks for a quick reply!
Is it possible for ViceVersa to remove old folders as well to keep the level at for example the 5 latest backups?
Kind regards

Hello
I think it's best to setup rotating backups like this:
x:\target-<dayofweek>\
<dayofweek> = One digit day of the week. 1 = Sunday, 2 = Monday, ..., 7 = Saturday
So instead of having to copy all files again to a new folder each time, VV will just re-write the files that have changed since last time in the same folder. You'll have 7 rotating target folders with this setup, one per day of week. _________________ --
