Hi all...

Sort of two questions here but related (I hope):

I am trying to backup data from a server in France to another in Belgium by the following method:
1. Copy all data from share on FR server (say, FR-DATA) to a 1Tb USB drive.
2. Ship drive to Belgium and copy the data to a share on the BE server (BE-DATA).
3. Map a drive on the BE server to the FR-Data share
4. Set VV Pro to BACKUP with FR-DATA as source and BE-DATA as target

So far I have got to stage 3 but when I preview the backup job VV tells me that there are 330Gb of files and folders to delete as if it doesn't recognize that the data is already there but a comparison gives this log:

Command Line: "C:\Program Files\ViceVersa Pro 2\VICEVERSA.EXE"

2 folders could not be accessed.
They were excluded from comparison.

When I tried to execute the profile it VV promptly started deleting files in the target location. The Backup was then cancelled.

Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong (or very stupid) here and does this 'pre-staging' of data work or does the target need to have been populated directly from the source for the backup to work?

Apologies for the novel-length question!

Cheers,
Mark
