I am very interested in an FTP solution.
I host my own servers out of my house. Yes, many, many servers, all with dynamic IP addresses with redirected links. This way my friends and family can use my servers to back up their data remotely, and save them the cost of high-end backups.
After having said all of this, it would be really nice if Vice Versa provided FTP support. Not only would you receive quite a few new customers, but it would add a tremendously needed support tunnel to otherwise fantastic backup software.
Right now, my friends and family are using various other products. Whenever they ask me to come over to their houses and set up (or change) their current backup process, each package is very confusing, and not very intuitive.
I am curious how far out an FTP solution is for Vice Versa and VVEngine. I would prefer to support this software but, if user feedback is not considered, I might need to find another solution in order to implement a common solution for my family and friends.
Here is hoping to a positive reply! : ) |

Hello,
The problem with FTP is that it does not maintain timestamps. We are working on supporting SFTP.
thanks _________________ --
