|

I currently have a Windows 2008 server (64-bit) and Windows 2003 server (32-bit) with approx 10TB of available storage space. On the Windows 2008 server we a 2TB folder that has a very simple and flat folder structure that houses medical images (which are mostly less than 25MB in size). We would like to synchronize or replicate this folder onto the Windows 2003 server in the event the Windows 2008 server fails, but have been unable to find a product that allows us to sync/replicate a folder of this size. Anyway, both servers have 4GB of memory and as stated before 10TB of available space and we would like to know if ViceVersa can reliably handle syncing 2TB or more of data, and if so what product would we need to purchase.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

There should be about 80K image files then? ViceVersa PRO would not have a problem working with that 2TB folder. thanks _________________ --

|

I am in a very similar situation as the above user. However my problem comes during the compare phase of the backup. I have attempted to use the "File and Folder" filters to "filter" down the list of folders/files to backup. However during the compare I get the dreaded "Out of memory" error. I know that with the folder and file filters I have that the resulting set of files will be less that 1 million however I am still getting the "out of memory" error on just the compare.
The stucture of the directory to be backed up is a flat directory with thousands of folders and millions of files in the folders. They are however date named and so easily filtered but the compare isn't working.
To "choose" each top level directory by hand would be untenable since there could be literraly several hundred for a given month. Is there any other way to create the backup file set that won't fail?
Thanks for any assistance.
