|
|
We use PGP Whole Disk Encryption solution to encrypt our systems and ViceVersa Pro to run backups at our facility.
We have run into a recent critical issue dealing with ViceVersa's creating a Volume Shadow Copy on a laptop system running PGP Desktop 10 where the hard drive is encrypted.
ViceVersa will run fine until it begins generating the shadow copy. At that point, system performance degrades to the point that the laptop locks up. Reviewing our users backup logs show that this is consistently happening to multiple users where the backup locks up at that point.
After some testing, we found that disabling VSS when running a backup allows the system to function normally. However, that is a short term remedy since VSS allows our users to backup while running MS Office apps.
Are there any known issues (or solutions) with using VVPro and PGP WDE? |
