Thanks, can you copy the files using Windows Explorer instead? I wonder if this could be a limitation of the NAS. thanks _________________ --

hi, thanx for the answer, but this cannot be the solution for "the best" back-up-program, i found on the market to say: use WIN-EXPLORER!
i bought the software just because i need a alternative professional perfect automatic solution! - which, b.t.w. ONLY overwrites changed files!
could you explain me, what the message of vv, i posted before, mean?
maybe i can somehow change the files? which attributes does the programm mean?
thank you

Sorry Stan, I did not explain myself clearly. I wanted you to test with Windows Explorer to check if it's a problem related to ViceVersa or the NAS.
Anyway, are the folders with the error marked as read-only or hidden? Those are the attributes that VV is trying to copy. Does the problem only happen with folders with Chinese characters ?

hello, i found a first problem with -non chinese-files
the cahnged-datum is before the create-datum, however that happened (wrong datum in a mobile pc, i think ???)
look at the screenshot:
file 109 was copied
the other has a wrong datastamp.
is it possible to change all at once (a batch saying: change all "change"-date to "created"-date, or something...)
in the next step i will check the "chinese" files.....there's more to come.

hi, some experiments i made are shocking:
when i copy a file wird "changed"-date older the "create"-date, the result is, that the "change"-date is kept a nd the "create-date" is now earlier
original on server win2008: CR.: 2009 CH: 2008
copy on NAS threw vista & winexplorer: CR:2007 CH:2008
the years are examples. it seems, that the nas writes wrong "create"-date or something.
next i will check a copy to the vista-pc itself....
this is a catastrophy, because i habe about 10 gb of files that VV therefore cannot copy at all....
god save our computers! it's 2010.
