|

Hi there,
I'm trialling v2.5 on a Dell Vostro 400 using Vista 32 - backing up to an external USB drive.
On my laptop the backup runs quickly, deleting files in the target folder almost immediatly - on the Vostro it's taking ages at a rate of maybe 300bytes a second to delete files. The copy speed is set to max.
Could this be a PIO / DMA issue with the machine? I've not noticed it being slow in regular explorer usage / moving deleting.
Any ideas? VVP is excellent otherwise (we had V2 at work) and usually very quick and reliable.
Thanks,

|
|
So I've looked in my task manager and when I run VVP the kernal times on all my procs (4) max out.
In my device manager all my drives (I think) are ATA and DMA - so am not sure it's that.... is it?
Does VVP delete via DMA or does it have to pass through the app/processor (might be out of my depth with lingo here, but hopefully you'll know what I mean)
Thanks! |
