We currently use VV to sync our job data folders between NAS devices at the branch offices to the central file server at our HQ office. These are done via jobs we have run once a night.
What we are interested in having our users create a my jobs folder on their laptops and then each job would have its own folder and structure inside that. These users are traveling most of time. When they come back in to the office and hook their machine up to the network, we want VV to automatically kick off and start syncing the job folders inside their My Jobs up to the main file server.
Server File Structure
Job Data Share
|-Office 1 Jobs
| |-Customer 1
| | |-1234-Some Job
| | |-5678-Some Other Job
| | | |-Some Job Files
| |
| |-Customer 2
|
|-Office 2 Jobs
Laptop File Structure
My Jobs
|-5678-Some Other Job
| |-Some Job Files
So based on the above file structure, when the user comes back to the office and logs into the network, VV is going to kick off and start syncing his My Jobs folder up to the server. Since the File structures don't match will this be possible? Will VV know that the 5678 job folder should be sync'd with the server's 5678 job folder? Is this kind of sync possible?
Thanks for any help you can offer. |

Hello
you could sync
Job Data Share> Office 1 Jobs> Customer 1> 5678-Some Other Job
vs.
My Jobs>5678-Some Other Job
thanks _________________ --

Some of these users have 100's of job folders on their machines. Would i have to create a sync job for each folder?
Let's say they did only have one job folder and it was a simple setup. How do i make VV start syncing automatically when they log onto the network?
Thanks! |
