I've just noticed that one of our jobs has stopped writing the logfile the way it used to.
Instead of:
2010-02-03 19:00:00 : START ID: 201024100-2772968-3356
2010-02-03 19:00:00 : ************************************************************
2010-02-03 19:00:00 : Profile Started.
2010-02-03 19:00:00 : ************************************************************
2010-02-03 19:00:00 : Version: ViceVersa PRO 2 Build 2015 (SN101)
I'm getting:
2 0 1 0 - 0 2 - 0 4 1 9 : 0 0 : 0 0 :
2 0 1 0 - 0 2 - 0 4 1 9 : 0 0 : 0 0 : -
2 0 1 0 - 0 2 - 0 4 1 9 : 0 0 : 0 0 : S T A R T I D : 2 0 1 0 2 5 1 0 0 - 1 2 5 7 7 9 6 - 8 0 3 2
2 0 1 0 - 0 2 - 0 4 1 9 : 0 0 : 0 0 : * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
2 0 1 0 - 0 2 - 0 4 1 9 : 0 0 : 0 0 : P r o f i l e S t a r t e d .
2 0 1 0 - 0 2 - 0 4 1 9 : 0 0 : 0 0 : * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
2 0 1 0 - 0 2 - 0 4 1 9 : 0 0 : 0 0 : V e r s i o n : V i c e V e r s a P R O 2 B u i l d 2 0 1 5 ( S N 1 0 1 )
Apparently it's something I did, since I split up the file to archive previous logs and it was on that day that the change started.
I've been doing this type of thing for over a year without any problems, so I'm puzzled over what has caused this.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Well, I created a new, empty logfile in Notepad and then decided to open it in the logfile viewer and re-save it from there. Logfile looks normal this morning. I suppose saving it in the viewer instead of Notepad made/makes a difference, but it didn't seem to make a difference before.
I guess I'll keep an eye on it and see if it continues normally... |

VV went from ASCII logs to UNICODE logs, and what you saw can happen during this transition. If you empty or save the log with Notepad, then it won't happen again.

I had this happen again as I archived log files (cutting & pasting portions from the "original" log files and re-saving the "original" log files in Notepad).
I decided to just move - and/or rename - the "original" log files, and let VV create fresh log files. The new log files look fine.
It seems like this is the most expedient approach (for me, anyway).
Hope this info is of use to TGRMN or someone else... |
