Hi,
I am trying to save my schedule in VVEngine with the following:

Time Schedule:
Run every 5 minutes
<all unchecked>Do not run...
<checked>If Scheduled run is missed, run at next startup
Schedule run ONLY IF file changes are detected in <checked>Source <unchecked>Target

Special:
<checked>Run at startup
<checked>Run Immediately as soon as source and target are accessible
<checked>check if source and target are accessible on the server using PING command only
If error occurs re-run after 20 minutes
After this profile run none

Monitoring
<unchecked>Monitor SOURCE and run when file changes are detected
<checked>Monitor TARGET and run when file changes are detected.

We work in an office with a mix of laptop & desktop users. The laptop users all need to have access to our files outside of the office. We all very rarely access the same files, so conflicts are normally an issue. We utilize a common hidden share on our server as a buffer for each computers' local copies of our shared folder (this also allows us a place to backup from). We frequently work on a file & save it every few minutes, so I didn't want the check "Monitor SOURCE and run when file changes are detected" becase it would possibly run too frequently. I figured updating our server share every 5 minutes (or possibly even more) with our changes would be fine. I also didn't want to possibly miss another file updated by another user, so I want to leave "Monitor TARGET and run when file changes are detected" checked.

When I try to save this as a schedule, it always unchecks Schedule run ONLY IF file changes are detected in Source, and re-checks Monitor SOURCE and run when file changes are detected... is this just the way has to be?

Any help would be appreciated!! The software works wonderful for our purposes, but I'm trying to reduce the amount of time that the software executes.

Thanks!
Jeff B

Hello

I tried to set the same settings and indeed it's not accepting that type of schedule. It looks like it should be possible, but we will need to check in the code to see if there is a reason why it does not accept that specific configuration....

thanks

Let me know what you find out. The more I consider how I want to use these settings, the more I'm convinced it's the best for how we have the solution implemented.

Thanks for looking in to this!

I'm basically bumping this to hopefully see if there will be a fix sometime soon... i noticed there's an update for VV pro (2 to 2.5); will there be an update to VV Engine & if so, will it allow me to do the options I'm requesting (leave monitoring UNCHECKED on source, but CHECKED on target)?

Thanks!!!
