I have a setup where there are two sites each with multiple servers and a large NAS device. I use Symantec Backup Exec to backup the contents of the servers onto the local NAS device.
What I now want to do is make a copy of each backup on the remote site's NAS (for offsite, disaster recovery purposes)
There will be about 2 TB of backup files at each site which will need to be copied across to the other site - there will be a dedicated ADSL / SDSL setup for this.
I would imagine that copying this amount of data in full each way every day is going to be impractical. I need to know whether ViceVersa will help me with this. How does Viceversa sync the data? If it is just by identifying whether a file has changed and then sending the whole file I'm not sure it will help. However, if it uses some sort of algorythm to check whether parts of the file have changed and only sending those changed parts then it may work.
Can anyone give me any advice on this please |

Hello
ViceVersa does not support delta file copying, but I am not sure that functionality would be useful in this case anyway. If these are very large backup files, compressed / encrypted, etc. they may change a lot between versions which would make the delta copying not very useful. Probably a better solution would be to try to have smaller / multiple backup files if at all possible.
