I'm trying to use VV free 1.0.4 on a XP PC that normally runs in a user account without admin rights, and it will not work:

I attempt to synchronise two identical folder systems, one on a data stick and the other on disk. Unfortunately, VV attempts to update identical files. When I let it do this it wants to prune files that exist in the source. Then it later reverts to updating the same identical files (!).

However, if I run VV on a local account with admin rights it works. But if I give my normal account admin rights it still does not work (!).

When I use another less appropriate tool (winmerge) there are no problems, and source and target are identified as identical. So it is probably not a problem with recorded file dates and times.

Any suggestions? Is this a known problem? Is this just a problem with the free version and would it work with pro?

I hope this makes sense.

To make sure casing was the same I deleted all files and folders in target, and then copied source files and folders back to target.

Now VV works.

Many thanks for advice
