I am new to this software.
I wish to compare d:\ with \\Aries\d\
and exclude the folder d:\RECYCLER and all of its subfolders.
I can successfully compare the two drives without the exclusion.
Nowhere in Help can I find an instruction as to exactly what I have to do to achieve such an exclusion. It gives me examples of filter masks but it does not tell me which particular string from the example description is the actual mask and where it is to be entered nor whether there have to be any delimiters.
I have for example typed in the Source window:
d:\ d:\RECYCLER* which produces the error message:
Source folder "d:\ d:\RECYCLER*\" not found. The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Please give me a precise example.
Thanks |

Thanks but I need more help.
You say "add an exclude sub-folder filter" but I do not know what to add it to and Help does not tell me.
When I define a new profile, there is no drop-down menu for filters, all I see is the Source/Target Selection panel. I guessed that I had to enter the filter in the Source box after the source drive/folder string. Obviously not, since if in 'Source' I enter:
d:\ d:\RECYCLER
I get an error message.
Please tell me precisely what I must type and where.
Thanks. |

Hello
you'll need to click on "Change Profile Settings" on the main ViceVersa PRO window. Then on "More" -> Subfolder Filters where you can add the d:\recycler filter
