Hi all,

I have VV running to sync configuration data files between two servers.

Now assume an automated server shutdown procedure, where an application shuts down, and writes an updated config file to memorize its last state. I must ensure that VV replicates this file before the shutdown procedure continues and eventually terminates the ViceVersa process and the operating system.

ViceVersa is configured to run in the background (VVLauncher installed as a service), Replicate on file change, use the Volume Shadow Copy provider.

I am looking for a programmatic way to either

- trigger a ViceVersa replication one last time and get a status back as soon as all files have been successfully replicated, so I can now shut down the server

or

- have ViceVersa check the status of source and target server and report back a state where I can see whether there are file replications pending

Having one of those mechanisms enables me to write my shutdown process so I can either trigger a replication and wait until it went through, or poll the replication state until it says that everything is replicated. Either mechanism would give me what I want.

How can I achieve this?

Thanks

Armin.

Hello

You could create a script that shuts down the application, which then runs a ViceVersa profile (using the command line) and which finally shuts down the server.

thanks
