After reboot, I cannot run any profile without first editing the profile and reselecting the target drive "\\DNS-323\Mitch" at which time I need to re-enter my username and password. Once I do this for 1 profile, all others work without problem. I am the only user of this machine and am not running VVEngine as a Windows service. How can I avoid having to do this every time I reboot? HELP! |

Hello
Are you using the UNC path in the profile settings? Did you enter password and path in profile settings -> folders -> network? Which scheduling settings are you using in VVEngine?
thank you _________________ --

Yes, "\\DNS-323\Mitch" is the UNC path. When I first boot I use "network drive manager" to map drive "S:" to the same path which also requires entering my username and password. For some reason unknown to me Windows is unable to reconnect this network drive at startup even though I select 'remember user credentials'. VV engine is set to run daily and, as I said, if I edit one profile to select the network drive, after I re-enter the user/password all profiles will work. This works, by the way, even if I don't save the profile. Just the act of selecting the drive is enough. Thanks. |

I tried entering the user and password in profile settings and I got this:
\\DNS-323\Mitch is not accessible using the credentials entered. Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again.
What does it mean? |

Hello
please try the following: after restarting the PC, open a command window and type
NET USE
What network connections are listed?
Then connect to the drive by clicking on it, and re-try NET USE

Initial 'net use' shows no connection. After connecting, net use shows:
C:\Users\Mitch>net use
New connections will be remembered.
Status Local Remote Network
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK \\DNS-323\IPC$ Microsoft Windows Network
The command completed successfully.
Does this help? I must also add that I've installed a piece of software called Network Drive Manager. This automatically maps my drive for me and it does work. After this runs at boot, it reconnects the drive. Still, when I attempt to open a profile in VV, I need to re-enter my user and password again. |

Hello,
- when entering user and password in the ViceVersa profile settings, are you using the same exact info as in Network Drive Manager?
- Is NET USE showing no connections even after Network Drive Manager is connected? What if you click on \\DNS-323\Mitch in Windows Explorer?

C:\Users\Mitch>net use

S: \\DNS-323\Mitch Microsoft Windows Network

Yes, User & password are identical. This is what net use shows after network drive manager does its thing. However, the profile still comes up with target not found unless I edit the profile, select the drive, and enter my user and password again. If there's nothing that can be done, I'll just have to do this everytime I reboot the machine although I'd obviously prefer to solve this. |

One additional thing. Even after network drive manager reconnects, I cannot connect using 'S:\backup\'. |

I am not familiar with the Network Drive Manager program, but could you try dis-activating it, or remove the S:\backup\' connection from the program.
Then enter path and password in the profile settings instead.
Just make sure you delete all network connections, after dis-activating the Network Drive Manager program, with command
net use /delete * _________________ --

That seemed to do the trick. After removing Network Drive Manager and unmapping the network drive, I entered the network settings in the VV profile. This was then accepted. I was then able to re-enable NDM and VV Engine still worked. I guess that solves that. Many thanks. |
