Can somebody please point me to the answer, which probably exists on this forum already.
I have just installed Windows 7 on desktop and on Laptop.
I want to set up sync. The result after comparison and telling it to get on with it is a message for every file saying access denied.
I am able to copy between the shared drive on both computers both ways.

This must be simple or else there would be people screaming, like me.
Thank you, I hope.

Hello,

It sounds like a file permission issue, i.e. the account running ViceVersa on PC1 does not have rights to change files on PC2 ... the cause could be multiple, but do check the file permissions on the shared folder.

thank you

Thanks for replying.
I did have permissions wrong on one computer. They are now both the same.
I notice that from either computer I can use the compare window and right click a file and copy from B to A but not the other way.
I cannot see any other permissions settings or places.

On each computer...
I selected the drive to share, right click, share with, advanced sharing, permissions.
Then set everyone, full control, change and read.
Is there somewhere else please?

Seems to sort of work now having changed permissions to 'everyone'.
I would have expected a more restricted group like 'homegroup' to also have worked when the other computer is also 'homegroup' but it seems not and I don't know why.
Can somebody enlighten me please.

It seems that it was one firewall for some reason, other settings OK.
Now working.
Thanks.
