Is there a method whereby I could run VV on both my local and remote machine in order to reduce the amount of time it takes to build the local / remote comparison tree?

Large number of files + slow link means that the compare source / target operations take a long time, was thinking if the comparision operations could run locally on both source and target than the results could be compared much more quickly.

i.e. Sync job requested,
Local Scan of source begins, and
VV_local requests VV_remote to begin a local Scan of Target
On notification of completion, the results are compared, and action taken.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I think this feature would be a great advantage -- can you move the post over to the feature request / wish list section, or should I repost it there.

Also, do you do rsync or similar bit copies of the deltas / on the fly compression, etc. that would improve performance?

I understand that the complexities of solving these problem are significant, not the least because of difficulties in articulating exactly what it is that you want the code to do, and the level of safety that is required when you write code that can arbitrarily delete giga or terabytes of somebody's hard work.
