|
|
Hi,
I'm using VVEngine 1.1 Build 7 with ViceVersa Pro 2 Build 2015. (I have the needed license)
The VVEngine is configured to run as windows service, and it has 2 profiles, on both profiles the source folder are located remotely and the target folders are located locally.
The sync method is: "Monitor Source and Run When File Changes Are Detected"
In general, it works ok, without any problems, BUT from time to time, suddenly ONE of the profiles stops detecting changes in the remote computer, although, there were changes. Only restart to the VVEngine service solves the problem.
I read in this forum that similar problem occured to other users as well.
How can it be fixed ? This sync process is crucial to our business. We need an urgent solution for this.
Thanks in adnvanced

Hello,
what are the two operative system being synchronized, on the local and remote system? Is the network connectivity always maintained? Is it a Local Area Network?

Hi,
Both machines OS is: Windows 2003 R2.
There is no problem with the network connectivity, and Yes this is Local Area Network.
I have a feeling that something is wrong with the "detect file changes" trigger.
I hope will be able to help soon

Hi,
did you try installing ViceVersa on both servers and only monitor local folders for changes (not across the network) to avoid network problems.

No, I didn't, since I wanted to "listen" on changes over the network on purpose. Meaning, when identify a change in source (remote machine) copy its data to the target (local machine).
I noticed that ViceVersa comsumes around 20% CPU, therefore, I didn't wanted to run the copy process on the source but rather on the target.
What do you suggest should be my next step to resolve this ?

Yes, I would try that, monitoring for changes locally for a short term solution. In the longer term we would like to address this issue further. Is there an e-mail we can contact you at?
