Hi:

running registered VVPro 2015 x64 with VVEngine as a service. I have 2 profiles that run every 4 hours in backup/sync mode staggered start time of 2 hours from each other. For some unknown reason, in the last couple of days, the file deletion portion of the process is taking in excess of 12 hours to delete 2000 + files from the target system. This obviously is not good.

If I run the same profiles manually from within VVPro, they take less than hour each which also includes the file copy/update part of the process.

What might be the cause of this anomaly ?

It could be an issue with sending files to the recycle bin; you can try switching off the option "Use Recycle Bin when deleting files". This option is in view -> preferences in the main ViceVersa PRO menu.

It's actually getting worse here with the not deleting of files on the source drive. At the moment there are only 925 files of various sizes and it is now over 4 min. into just the delete cycle and nothing deleted yet.

What is up with this?

Do you mean files are not deleted at all, but the log file shows ViceVersa trying to delete the files?
thanks

I've been out of town on business until today.

What I meant in my last post was that even after all of the preliminary checking and sorting of source and target folders, where it was determined that 950 files on the target drive needed to be deleted, that after an additional 9 min., not one file of that 950 had yet been deleted.

Is ViceVersa frozen at this point?
thanks

No, it is not hung up. It is just extremely slow. This is what it is currently doing at the moment:

Progress of "Deleting from target ..." :
Deleting "dfa001nearstarsvr1.pageidx.1" (48B) ...
Done: 18 (1.59MB) Err: 0 (0) Skipped: 0 (0) Tot: 435 (18.22MB)
Deleted: 18 of 435
Transfer Rate: n.a. (7 min 54 sec)

If there is any additional log details you would like to see, just ask.

Thanks

That's very strange, is it much faster when deleting files in the same folder with Windows Explorer?
thanks

Yes, it deletes quickly from within Windows Explorer. also, as I mentioned earlier, When I run the same profile manually with vvpro it runs as very quickly.
