|

I have a home network. I have a hard drive connected to my main computer. I can access that drive from my laptop, and write files to it from my laptop.
I can see the drive from VV2, and include it in my profile. However, when I try to back up from my laptop to my desktop, VV is unable to write any files to the hard drive.
If I try to create a folder via VV from my laptop, it says i need permission. As far as I know, I set permissions on my other computer (and I can save to the hard drive from other programs).
Any ideas as to get this to work?
Thanks |

Hi:
My laptop uses Home Vista. My desktop uses Windows XP. |

I sort of figured out the problem. For some reason, my external hard drive has more than one name visible on the network. My VV profile used one of the names, but for whatever reason did not allow the program to write to the hard drive. When I switched the profile to the other name, it does work. |
