|

I have a profile contain 48 separate folder pairs to replicate from one Windows 2003 server to another.
I've noticed that the 'checking tracking database' stage takes 1-2 seconds for the first folder to be replicated but this time then increases as each folder in the profile is processed such that it takes 10-11 seconds for the last folder in the profile.
When the profile is next executed the process repeats with the 'checking tracking database' stage initially taking only 1-2 seconds and then increasing once more.
It's not related to the folders being replicated as the increase is consistent as the folders in the profile are processed - i could understand that some might take longer than others but in this case the larger folders are actually at the start of the profile when only 1-2 seconds are required to check the tracking database.
Can anyone explain what might occuring and if it could be overcome - the replication interval has had to be increased because of the time taken to complete the profile and time spent checking the tracking database is a large percentage of that time. |

Hi, information about the folder pairs are stored sequentially, the bottom pairs take longer... are you synchronizing? thanks _________________ --

Yes we are synchronizing - the target folders on the remote server are used in the even of failure of the primary and will be updated during any switch-over therefore we need two-way synchronization to ensure the primary gets updated automatically when it comes back online. |
